As I read the topic, I learned that how someone dresses describes the type of person they are. Also, some people dress a certain way in order to help them cope with a certain situation. People wear certain things because they want to know where they fit in with society. In the article “What Your Clothes Say about You”, the author states that to be able to overcome issues in life, your wardrobe may be the only thing that’ll help you to overcome these problems. The author’s language shows her perspective because in the article she’s agreeing with the fact that your clothing says a lot about who you are. For example, in the first sentence of the article the author states “It’s no news that your wardrobe says a lot about you.” When the author says “with people losing status, maintaining a sense of who you are becomes even more important”, the author means that since people are becoming less important in society, how you represent yourself becomes more important in order to stay relevant.

Well written Nia. I agree with you relevance in today's society is connected to how we represent our self.

While reading the article, I learned that the way a person dresses represents the type of person they are, what they think of themselves, and how they try to fit in. The author states “When you don’t have a specific system, people come up with their own,” she explains. It’s what “helps you figure out where you fit in." The author's language shows her perspective on how the way a person dresses represents a social system almost. When the author says, “with people losing status, maintaining a sense of who we are becomes even more important", she means that people use clothes to stay important in society.

After reading the topic, I learned that the style of dressing can really help describe who a person is. It's a way to convey what some feel and what their taste is. In the article "What Your Clothes Say About You", Dr. Baumgartner states that clothing is a way Americans show their economic and social status. It lets others see what their personality is like similar to therapy. Depending on what your wear sometimes can either give off a good or bad image. The tone and language of the article shows how the author agrees with clothes saying about you. As she gives lots of evidence to support her perspective. When she says, "with people losing status, maintaining a sense of who you are becomes even more important", it means that despite losing your title, it's staying who you are more important. Because status is a thing and to keep true to oneself is being truthful, and loving oneself.

People dress in many different types of ways according to the type of lifestyle and situations they have to cope with on the daily bases. In the article the authors language shows her perspective on the agreement with the fact that "your clothing says a lot about who you are". In the article "what your clothes say about you" the author states that americans show their economic and social status in their way of dressing. When the author states "with people losing status, maintaining a sense of who we are becomes even more important" she is trying to say that the way you represent yourself help you become more of relevant person in today's society.

Fashion speaks for itself. It reflects who a person is based on his/ her attire. It portrays the feelings and emotions of a person, as well as their mood. Factors such as lifestyle and current situations affect what one wears. Therefore, it demonstrates the economic as well as social status of a person. Fashion conveys the taste of a person and in addition to this can be therapeutic according to Dr. Baumgartner says in the article, "What Your Clothes Say About You". Since fashion speaks at such a high volume, your style can give off either a good or bad impression. The tone and language of the article is supporting since the author agrees with the idea that fashion does reflect who one is. shows how the author agrees with clothes saying about oneself since she provides a multitude of evidence to support her perspective.

While reading the article, i learned the way people dress, speak for themselves. For instance, Dr. Jennifer Baumgartner explains why clothes are so revealing in personalities or how wardrobe changes the way people see you as well as how you see yourself. The authors language shows how she's in agreement with the concept of clothing representing how an individual feels and express themselves. The author says "with people losing status, maintaining a sense of who we are becomes even more important"; she's trying to convey an image of society with freedom of expression through clothing. There's no caste system to specify your social class. Its crucial for people to wear clothing that they are comfortable and have confidence oneself.

It says how fashion means many things to one another. Everybody has a different idea based on fashion. It does show how someone might be feeling or what the person is gonna do. Fashion is something big in the world, when you wanna get a good job , there looking for classy working outfit not an outfit you would go to the gym. But I believe you should dress to what comforts you. It shows a lot about someone, it's another language. In the article they talk about how people express themselves threw clothing you can find out someone's personality.

While reading the article "What Your Clothes Say About You " , I learned that others can tell a lot about you just through what you wear . I also came to the realization that we often use what we wear to express ourselves. Whether that means we're feeling happy or depressed it comes out in our outfits , even though sometimes we probably wouldn't want anyone to know. The author's language shows her perspective because it shows that author agrees with Dr. Baumgartner. Often quoting the doctor as evidence for how the clothes we wear give away who we are & how we feel to the world. For example, "since there is no system of rank here in America we have created one through our clothes; therefore it's our clothes that help place is where we think we want to be " says Dr. Baumgartner. We use logo clothing to give off a vibe that lets others know that we're wealthy - or at least financially stable enough to afford these things. When the author says
“with people losing status, maintaining a sense of who we are becomes even more important”, she means that with America having no real official rank of society (like a hierarchy etc), there isn't a real place anyone could just 'fit in' to. Therefore, through our clothes we wear it helps us to be grouped with people who think like us , so now the stakes are higher because the clothes are what helps us maintain the image we want to have/present to the world.

Paola Perez-

As I read the article, What Clothes Say About You, I learned that people react to their problems differently. The psychologist Jennifer Baumgartner states that there are people that shop in order to get their minds off the problems that they are dealing with. This is interesting because it seems unhealthy to spend money that way, but also a very fun way of forgetting your problems at least for a while. The author's language seems to agree that your clothes says a lot about you since she uses evidence from the doctor to back up her claim. When the author states, "with people losing status, maintaining sense of who we are becomes even more important" she is saying that in this society, so many different trends and people will come in and out of your life, but it is always important for you to stay true to what you like to wear, and just overall who you truly are as a person.

As I read the article I learned that clothing it can shape who we are and can show society how we want to be perceived. Clothing can be a barrier to people but it can also be a way of opening up and blossoming. In the article it states clothes created a whole new type of psychology, creating the idea that clothes can help someone emotionally such as relationship issues. The author states "What you wear can inform passersby of your type of employment, as well as your ambitions, emotions and spending habits." The authors language shows how society can perceive you in the way you dress, show how your feeling that day, and create how you want to be. When the author states "with people losing status, maintaining a sense of who we are becomes even more important." The author means to explain that people are finding ways to show society how they want to be feel seen and important in a world that keeps getting bigger and bigger and the economy helps people reach that goal.

Well, as I was reading the article, "What your clothes say about you", I learn about this topic that the way a person dress is a reflection of who they are. Dressing can be a representation of the type of person you are. According to the article it states "Have you ever been told that you can judge a man by his shoes? Unfortunately, its not that simple". In others words it mean that by seeing a person shoes you can describe their tastes. However , isn't that simple to describe someone because appearance isn't always as it seems. Therefore you can't judge a book by it cover. The author's language show his/her perspective about clothes, that their can be several reasons why a person might use clothes to show their emotions. The author mean when they state "with people losing status, maintaining a sense of who we are becomes even more important" that sometimes people might dress a certain way to be daily with what's going on with fashion because they don't want to feel apart.
