Um well i think that a flat illustration is a method that designers use to see the whole project laid out. for me the reason why the designers might use it is to get a better picture of what they may want their design to look like.

I define Flat illustration as a one dementional illustration.A flat illustration is like drawing a regular figure or design. the purpose of flat illustration is so you can make an illustrations on the computer. It can help you organize your portfolio better, naet and nice. It is important for us designer know how to make designs on the computer because every thing is made over the computer know of these days. As young designers these day, we should know how to do these things because we don't know what the future has in store for us.

I think that flat illustrations are very important because when you have to make a shirt or a pair of pants or any other garment we have to know how it looks like besides on the model. When we have to make the garment we need to know how the sleeves look and where the seems are at. My grandmother works in a factory for making clothes and what she does is that she cuts sleeves and shirts based on flat illustrations.Basically we need to learn how to do flat illustrations b/c as future designers we need the skills to ma ourgarments!
