This past week Fashion High had a magnificent Career Day turnout. Companies such as Tracy Reese, Lucky Magazine, and Versace USA Inc. to name a few were present at our school. They shared their professional expertise, advice, and knowledge about their career choices.
Who did you visit during Career Day and what did you learn from the presentation?

Career Day this year sort of disappointed me and helped me. I had signed up for the MTV Workshop but the presenter was a no show. I was a little disappointed because this was the number one thing on my list. The teachers in our room ended up bringing in another presenter who had once been a teacher and ended up making the databases for major fashion corporations. It was really interesting and he filled in perfectly.
The next workshop that I attended was the Personal Shopper for Bloomingdales. I loved this presentation since shopping is my favorite past time. I enjoyed hearing our speakers expeirences as a personal shopper and got a better understanding about how to build clientel. I even got the guest speakers information so that I would be able to use him for a shopping trip. I loved this workshop because I could relate to it. What girl doesn't LOVE to shop???

Career Day was very helpful. I just wish it could have been longer because there were so many sessions I wanted to attend but not enough time slots. This year, however, instead of following my friends from door to door, I went to sessions that actually could help me in the future.
Since I want to be a journalist, I went to Harpers Bazaar for my first session. The representatives there were very helpful and gave me tips that I wouldn't have found out on my own about the cooperate world. The second session ("Confessions of a Casting Director") gave me information on how to get communications in the fashion industry. I hope next year, we'll have three sessions.
I went to Harpers Bazaar Magazine and I really found it interesting. It gave me some incite on what i want to study in college. The next one was boring it was a lady from parsons but she did tlk about the school she tlked about herself and how she was an english major and stuff like that....

i like the colors and patterns of the fabrics.I also like the fact that you have ads of the 1950s , because everything in fashion now the style is coming from the 1950s-1990s
Career day for me was really enjoyable. I went to the seventeen magazine presentation and the new york times fashion editor presentation. In both situations the people stated that they never imagined that theyd end up where they are now which says a lot. The New York times fashion editor also stated that her background in fashion design definitely helped her with her job. This showed how there are many opportunities out there for those whom have knowledge of fashion design.
