Based on the title ‘’ Why Fashion Keeps Tripping Over Race’’ by Robin Givhan, I infer that this article will be about different races and the stereotypes that they might have mainly focusing on fashion. It may also mean how difficult some fashions may be to wear or keep together especially shoes, for their complexity have changed drastically over the years. ( height and look).

I think race would be human race. So I think it is a figurative term because Fashion is not actually tripping. Only most animals and humans trip. I think that it means like why Fashion keeps on popping up as a most common topic/so important to humans nowadays. The article might be about how Fashion is so important to people and fashion designers that would rather design clothes for skinny people.

From reading the article title “Why Fashion Keeps Tripping Over Race” I can infer that the article is going to be about fashion being judged on people races and how its going to be about how one type of race is being more paid attention to other races fashion and so on. To me I would say the title is a figurative term because the way the author said the title has words youth in our generation 2012 would say to describe a situation. Also the way he used it made it look like a slang sentence which once again youth in our generation would talk like now a these days.

What I think this article “Fashion Keeps Tripping” will be about how fashion over time and during the centuries how fashion changed over time . Such as with style, the trends, and how people would dress. Yes, I do agree that the title is a figurative term. The way I would translate it’s mean is by saying the figurative term “Fashion Keeps Tripping” in a translation means over time fashion have been changing over the time and over the years.

i think the story is about how the fashion throughout the years have changes and how they use to be simple and easy to mix and match but nowadays they are more complex and diverse and how fashion went from one simple thing then took a big lead into a more complex and diverse style out of nowhere because people want to be outrageous and different but they try to hard -tasha s.

* I infer that the article is going to be about how fashion works and what it does in our race and also how it revolves around it.
i agree that the article is figurative term because fashion can’t trip over something.

After reading the title of the article I think that it might be about fashion based on your nationality and where you come from. The reason I think this is because in the title the word race and fashion gave it out.

-I infer that this article of “Fashion Keeps Tripping” will be about how some clothing and made too big or long that for models to address these kind of clothing in a fashion show they trip over these big or long pieces of clothing. Or maybe the race part of the article is of people against some types of clothing if/so how some clothing doesn’t look good on several kind of women. The Fashion Race part of the article might explain of designers competing each other trying to come up with something new.

after reading the title of this article i think this would discuss fashion and the obstacles of fashion and the race because everyone is always trying to do better and come out with something new. I do agree that this title is an example of figurative language because clothing can't literally have a race.

I infer that the title of such would mean that the article is about how, in the world and environment of fashion, the articles of clothing may be only designed for specific skin tones; like color. For example it’s been recognized that the color magenta looks better on a darker skin tone, the color nude looks better on lighter skin tone. the color gold looks better on darker skin tones, and the color red and/or blue looks better on lighter skin tones. In today’s age, we have such a broad amount of fashion that is constantly being shared around the world. For example, you see dark skin toned males started wearing this swagger-type clothing that included, do-rags, snapbacks, sagging of the pants/jeans, high tops, etc. and now almost all males of different ethnicities are contributing to this style.

What i infer the article will be about is it obviously will deal with race but also involving how fashion is viewed from different races, nationalities, and their cultural fashion. i agree that the title is a figurative term because of the way the basic words are put in a sentence. the way the sentence is shown has people thinking of what does this term have to do with the other term. Which in that case has people creating ideas in their mind of what the figurative term can mean all together.

Unknown said...

I infer that the article is going to be about what fashion is and different types of styles in fashion.I also think that the article is going to be about different clothing and how it relates to how the person is and their race.

I would infer that the article will be about the obstacles of fashion based on your nationality or where you are from. I say this because, I Saw the words tripping and race. I would agree that the title is a figurative term because I think that the author is trying to convey sentimental ideas about fashion that other people think should be based on where you come from.

I infer that the article will be about how different races revolve around different clothing; different schemes of colors look different on various skin tones.

I think the title means how fashion has many difficulty depending on your culture. Also, it can be about how designers always want to be the best so thats why they say race. So what i’m trying to say is that fashion designers are competitive when it comes to being the best.

i believe that the article why fashion keeps on tripping over race is about fashion changing throughout the years. This article might also show that fashion has been changing throughout the way that people actually use their sense of fashion. The word race in the article might be used as the changes of fashion throughout cultures of their own. The tripping in this title might show the stops that fashion has been making.

i infer: that the article is going to be about a lot of fashion in different parts of the world. YES i agree that is a figurative language because is in terms of meaning when something is in figurative language it means that for u to understand it u need to translate. i would translated like why do fashion still being the same thing but sometimes it changes.

Unknown said...

@Mikey Angel Perez I agree with you that this article may focus on how one race is being paid more attention to than other races fashion wise.

I think that the article will be about how fashion can be racist or favor a differnt race than others and it can all depend on how the clothes look on certain people.

I agree that the title “Fashion keeps Tripping over Race” is a figurative term because it is saying how they feel in a way or how certain people give a certain look.
-NIA Y.

I think that the article would be about how fashion designers or just fashion in general is grouping fashion or clothing by race. Like as if when people are designing clothes they are having a mind set as if people who are colored or white would be wearing this type of clothing.

I think i can inference by the title that it would be about culture and how people struggle in fashion about. Also how fashion in culture can positively affect your fashion. I do agreed that the title is a figurative language, I think its trying to say that people in fashion are competitive and anyone can trip and fall put no one stays on the ground.

I infer that this article will be an example of the way people think of others, in a sense of where we come from and our ethnicity. I believe that this article is a figurative term.

I think the article is going to mainly focus on the issues that arise in fashion not because of the clothes but because of the race of the designer of the clothes. I agree, i think that the title is figurative because it doesn’t mean that fashion is a person and it is tripping in a race. It means that issues a being bought up and there is some controversy that certain designers that are having more business that look this way compared to the others that look another way that don’t have nearly as much business as the high end fashion designers and that are producing the same clothes, and thier clothes are in the same category of style.
-Kaelin B.

Unknown said...

I infer that the article will be about how fashion may be stereotypical towards a certain race and people are in shock on how bias the designers are being. I predicted this because I decided to use to words tripping and race as context clues. I think the author isn’t using figurative language I think he’s being literal about the title but in a creative way.

@Desiah Davis I agree with your inference because mine was also similar. I inferred that the title meant that fashion was being bias toward a certain kind of race/ ethnicity. @Amanda R ----> I agree with when you brought up the fact that "The article might be about how fashion is so important to people and fashion designers that would rather design clothes for skinny people", because
I think that in the headlines of fashion media today, what is being "put out there" is being paid attention to y the human race of all different kinds, and ethnicities because it may affect the importance of what their interpretation of fashion and how things should be worn and advertised means to them. :)

Unknown said...

I agree with you because of the fact that race and trpping made you think of the article in that certain way. Many others have different ways of what they infer of the article and what it would be about but i feel that with yours i can relate the most with. Adding on to that, thinking of the the article through perspective makes snese and why you would think of it that way.
