I learned that the African prints on the fabrics tells a story. Furthermore, the prints themselves are often a driving force that inspires designers.

Mr. Anaman thank you for telling our students that "Strategies start with sacrifices". In today's fast paced society we often loose sight of that important fact. God Bless

Having Felix Anaman as a guest was nothing short of inspirational. I learned so much about African fabrics that I never knew before. Each print tells a story while each color defines its meaning.

The most important element that I took away from his visit was "Not one man is successful without experience."

Mr. Felix, thank you so much for sharing your words of wisdom and your experiences as a designer. You were the light that I needed to see. Thank you and May God Bless You!

It was a blast!!!!!!! my kids totally enjoyed the experience and they are looking forward to working with the fashion majors in creating their artwork.
Felix was indeed an inspiration to the students. His humble and positive nature inspired them to never give up in their trials and through their hard ties.

The process continues with the help of our library specialist who would host our classes again on Wednesday to show the students the process of making the Kente cloth, videos I took in Ghana, summer 2011 while I lived in a village and painted a mural and helped build a school.
Thanks to all that worked together on this wonderful experience.
warmly,
Dr, Sieunarine

Last week I had the wonderful pleasure of expanding my knowledge on African prints. Before Mr. Felix came and shared his information on African prints, all i knew about African prints were from what I’ve seen...they have bright colors and that they're abstract.
Mr. Felix told us that every original African print holds a story. Also Mr. Felix incorporates American style fabrics and African prints, bringing the two worlds of fabric together are like creating a whole new category for design. I appreciate Mr. Felix coming to talk to us and taking time out of his busy schedule, he is a great inspiration.
Thank you Mr. Felix!

Yesterday our class got the chance to participate in an amazing presentation of Dr.Sieunarine's trip to Ghana, Africa. In her presentation she captured the culture of Ghana through music, dance and art. I loved the fact that these 3 things played a big role in their life. I learned that textiles are made through weaving and they are very big on them. I loved it!

Unfortunately I was absent the day Felix Anaman came to speak about African prints but yesterday Dr. Sieunarine put together a presentation about her trip to Ghana. Her trip was filled with traditional African culture, music, and dances. I hope to learn more about African prints and fabrics so that I will be able to incorporate it into future projects. Thank you!

I learned that African Prints tell a story. I found that very very interesting because that's beautiful in a way. If a print means more than just it's color, texture, and design, then it's a beautiful print, because it's very valuable. The fact that the prints tell a story makes them more interesting and inspirable.

I learned alot about African prints that i didnt know before.

Thank you for giving us some of your time Mr. Felix, I can personally say, I learned alot about African prints that i didn't know before!

I learned a great deal about African fabrics. Each fabric tells it's own individual story. I also learned that certain tribes wear certain fabrics. The colors and prints are so intricate and vibrant. Mr.Felix is a wonderful designer. He fuses African and Western styles to create his garments. He is a wise designer with so much to offer. He is very inspirational.
