Article Title: Class of 2010: Glimmer of Hope on the Job Front
Editor's name: Lisa Lockwood

In 2008 - 2009 it was difficult for graduates to get retail jobs, but now more companies are hiring 5.3 percent in 2009 and 2010. Many companies are extending their offers to search for graduates in their field and plan to hire immediately. For people seeking jobs in fashion it is still tough but everyday it is opening up. More and more companies such as Target and Macys are visiting colleges to find out interested students for their design department. Macy’s has doubled their interns so the students can experience the store and be hands on. Some of the graduates intern at the company and plan on having a full time job there. This is a great opportunity for college students to know and get involved in any field they prefer.
After reading this amazing article I felt more comfortable knowing this information because I want to pursue a career in fashion and is in need of more experience. The fact that companies are hiring lots of interns is such a thrill because you will find out what is right for you. This article influences Fashion Industries because as students we are eager to know more information about the fashion industry and this will help us for the future so we can successfully evaluate ourselves.

This article brought an impact of my take on college grduates pursuing fashion. I find that paid internships are necessary for adults interested because fashion companies are in need of new employees. On the other hand, paid internships will most likely attract graduates who want a serious job in the fashion industry rather than a non-profitable internship. What is ineteresting about graduates who are hired for jobs, need to be patient in order for them to succeed in the business they work in, Recruiting young people is a strong strategy to attract workers who are willing to get the job done. Graduates will have an advantage of exposing themselves to a professional workforce which is difficult to get at hand once out of college. With the economy slowly improving, more businesses are aware that college graduates are in need of jobs they need to get in order for them to pursue certain careers. I find the opportunities given to students to be extremelly profitable and generous. Two years ago, when businesses were firing and limited to hiring young workers, that goal would have been difficult to acheive.
