Religion has a big impact on the fashion industry. 1 example was the true reigion jeans in the picture, another is rosary beads (idk why but alot people were wearing those as a fashion statement). Not only religion but different cultures have also had a big impact on fashion.

I watch as fashion transforms from many places that designers use to inspire them and to see people use religion as a inspiration is a good thing like many people wear rosary beads or even the scarves that jewish women wear.

I think religion has a lot of impact with fashion today. Religion includes all the styles that designers show to express themselves. In some places, religion also shows what the climate is like in certain countries. Fashion's basic started from religion, and it continues to show itself in the fashion industry.

Yes,fashion can be inspired by different cultures and religions. Not only people of indian or jewish decent have a sence of style, but every religion according to the principles and standards of your belief ,determines what is or isn't appropriate for you to wear.

Religion has influenced fashion in many ways. Rosaries and Rhine stonce necklace crosses from the catholic belief under the christian religion are worn as fashion accessories. Indian Jewlrey such as bangel and ear rings inspired by the hindu religion. Also the nose ring chains that hook on to the ear that has become popular in western culture. True religion uses budhism as an inspiration for their clothing line. Harem pants is inspired by islam. On june 22nd 2009 in France the president banded Burqas (a head dress worn by islamic women) the fashion designers at a show on june 25th 2009 used Burqas as an inspiration for their clothing.

Nicolae thanks for the link. I think that the designer made the entire religion inspired ensemble look very modern. Why did the president of France band Burqas?

Designers are inspired by Religion usually to shock the public eye with the eccentric archetype of religion. Some designers include Dolce and Gabbana, Versace, Thierry Mugluer...There could also be a reason to just influence others to understand that all religion can be respected and fashionable. But particularly the moral behind the collection is that Fashion is the Designers Religion.

Everything can me interpreted in fashion. And religion has left its footprints in the industry. right now the indian culture has been very much interpreted by fashion the colors and also the jewlery are very popular. Also catholic rosaries are being used in urban fashion. This just goes to show that everything is fashion.

Religion has a huge impact on fashion, considering certain religions can wear only certain types of clothing. These styles inspire new trends, patterns and prints, fabrics, and so much more. For example, the Indian head-scarf has been worn all over the world as a fashion statement, not only as a head covering.

It is a hugge impact of fashion no matter what the cause mabe be. It really extrodianry of showing how people waer thier styles in certain and unique ways.

Religion has impacted fashion with the way that preacher's wives and everyday church goer's dress. Dressin for church used to be very traditional and primative, now there are plenty of extravagant hats and outfits to coordinate them with. There are also alot of fancy bags and shoes that are used to accesorize the outfits with. Church fashion shows have became popular where each article of clothing is displayed. I also think sthat there is rvalry withnin church about who has the best hat, encouraging more competition to get the better hat or to make it!

Religion impacts the fashion industry through clothing lines such as the one mentioned; True Religion. Theres actually a brand called Religion that was founded in 1989. This brand produces clothing for "young women with attitude". In addition to that some other lines of clothing more directly influenced by religious faith are Disciple, Jedidiah, & Messenger.

One way religion has been influenced in fashion is like the shawls we use over an evening gown is like a nijab or hijab muslims use.

Two things in life I am good at; History and Fashion. Just like we can trace religion alllll the way back to when Jesus was alive, we can also trace back fashion; but i don't have enough fingers to begin to type all of this. What I will tell you that is during Mideval times there was such a thing called a Crusade. For those of you who don't know, Crusades are basically a series of wars fought in the name of Christianity to restore christian control over the "Holy Land" or also known in the Bible as Israel. These campaigns went on for about 200 years. The Crusades was probably the greatest influence on Medieval Fashion when fine silks, satins, damasks, brocades, and velvets were imported from the Far East. Not only did people from Mideval times wear them but also, Gothic clothing incorporates religious symbols to their accessories. Today designers like Alexander McQueen, True Religion and Givenchy have collections with religious inspiration.

Religion is something that can be incorporated in pretty much anything, especially fashion. If we look back in history, we can see that religion groups have always used fashion in order to pridefully display their beliefs. For example Arabs who wear scarves that cover there face, or Jews who wear black hats.

From what i've observed everyone wears the rosary beads, the rosary braclets, the scarfs. And the True Religion jeans are popular because of price & quality :)

In my opinion there are some religions that severly stifle individuality in the fashion department. I.e the Strict Jewish Faith, with the women wearing long skirts and children always matching each other. (I've seen it in great detail)

But this aslo seems to me like a window of oppurtunity for a little fashion challenge. I'd like to see someone come up with a traditional, yet slightly more fashionable line of clothing for those types of strict religions.

I'd take intrest in that myself. :)

Religion does have an effect in fashion. Some people they look at their religeon to determine they're correct way of dressing.I have a sister that in her religion she can only wear skirts. In some other religions you can only show your face, hands and feet. Everything relates back to each other.
