INSPIRATION

  • an inspiring or animating action or influence: I cannot write poetry without inspiration.
  • a divine influence directly and immediately exerted upon the mind or soul.
  • the divine quality of the writings or words of a person so influenced.
  • the drawing of air into the lungs; inhalation.

This week’s topic is INSPIRATION. Computer Fashion Art, Draping, and Sewing Techniques classes you are each developing Fashion Design Art Projects and you have conducted elaborate research on an artist, cultural costumes, as well as an animal. How will you incorporate these researches onto your designs? What will be original or unique about your fashion designs?

I researched the Japanese traditional clothing and my artist is Lynne Taetzsch. She is an abstract artist and i love her work. To incorporate these two things into my designs i was thinking about using big burst of color and maybe use the kimono as a model or layout for the color.

Andy Warhol is very inspirational and that is why out of the ordinary style will be incorporated into my designs. For instance, not only will I use typical wedding fabrics but denim and other non-traditional fabrics.

My inspiration are the chinese customs && their dresses because their dresses represent significance and elegancy. In my portfolio development I want to create fashion sketches with bright colors like Andy Warhol did in his paintings. I would like to do a mixture of nicely patterned skirts && beautiful gownns

For this porfolio development project i will be designing loungerie with the paintings of Jose Parla. A graffiti artist. i will also be using Indian traditional clothing as an inspiration.

what inspired me in the research project was color. The indian cultural wear inspired me because it has color and very unique designs. In my designs i plan to put more color but also more sequences. I want to give my collection a very edgy side to it but not to taki or to inapropiate.

I will incorporate these researches into my design by being inspirated by the artist I chose. I will kind of include his theme in my work but then translate it into something that is totally different but still relating to his work.

In fashion we had did inspiration from artist, and others culture. I would incorporate these researches into my design by useing the information that I have got, and the artwork.I would use my original designs then use some of their colors that they use in their artwork to make my work look unique from others. I can also use fabrics that look like thier painting to show were I got my ideas from.

I want my collection to be briqht , colorful, unique so i choosed a pop artist. So Since Michael's paintings are so bright and colorful that will reflect on my clothing peices. Some of my clothes might even have the painting on them. this is very unique because not many fashion designers really put paintings on there clothing pieces. Everything such as patterns, designs, ect.. is going to be a major part in my collection.

I personally will incorporate my research by using the patterns that the artist I chose used in his art work. I will also use the traditional aprons that I researched for the country I wrote about in my recent essay. Both of these things I will use in any future art work or sketches.

Well for our art project we had to choose an animal for inspiration. I chose a polar bear. So basically in my project I used fake fur for fabric and I also used lots of blue because Polar Bears live in water. I tried to create a soft but fierce collection for bridal wear because, Polar Bears are like teddy bears but, they're also dangerous. It was fun and I can see myself wearing my own designs on that special day.

I will stick with the most triditional designs of the culture that i decided to pick. As a designer i would still stick with the original content of the design of the culture but add my own perks and trick. With what i learned i will make it more simplestic and more of what you could wear on a normal basics

I'll be incorporating the look and designs thats on most Chinese clothing. Ex: most traditional chinese clothing conisists of splits in there dresses and/or skirts and this inspires me. With me knowing this I'll incorporate somehow a split into the skirt im constructing.

I tried to incorporate all aspects of the animal into my designs. I incorporated things like the animals prominent ears, the skin color, and it's long nose. It probably won't be completely unique because everything has been done before, but I tried to make it as original as possible.

I will incorparate my inspiration by using what i learned in class and what i've learned about my country...and put it in my design.

In my design I used the togas or sheer gowns from the Renaissance time period that took place in Rome, Italy. The colors that I used were the colors on the Italian flag but in my opinion I felt that I was doing something very obvious or plain because I was using something so non-orginal. Therefor I am using the paintings of the Renaissance

I will be constructing a traditional chinese fitted skirt so instead of incorparating the usual long chinese skirts i will shorten mine and make it look more modern like todays fitted skirts. I will also turn my skirt into a balloon skirt

As of now I am working on a traditonal garment from Africa.I am modernizing it and I will incorporate in this design by using a certain traditional fabric from Africa called Kente Cloth. I am not going to make the traditional long Dashiki that they wear but mOdernized into a everyday casual skirt more short than the usual. I am using the basic fitted skirt pattern when usually thiers are long an have a sort of flare. I am also addiin a waist band and at the bottom a next band to make it puff aliitle but at the same time be fitted.

what inspired me of choosing peru as my research country, was the fact that i was actually borned there and lived there. living in peru, i see these types of skirts because some people still follow peruvian tradition. i will be using red for my skirt because the skirts are typically red or black with rick rack trimming of variety of colors also i will be using a band of embroidered flowers because that's what they usually have. the unique part of my design will be that i've implemenmted beads on the rick rack trimming to add more shine to it, although in pero the skirts have little circle mirros for the purpose of shine also.

In my designs I would use fabrics somewhat close to the orginal design or inspiration. Also I would incorprate maybe the animal(s) that are or were used in that time. If the inpiration has specific art used, I would use them too.

The country I chose to research was Ancient Egypt. The traditional clothing of Ancient Egypt are very unique and they stand out. I will use the traditional clothing of Ancient Egypt in order to incorporate them in my designs by applying what i have learned. I will use the colors that are normally used in the traditional clothing, along with spicing it up in my own unique way. I will also incorporate specific patterns that are used in the traditional clothing, as well as developing the clothing into a more up to date look.

I will use the colors of the country and incorporate on the design two important symbols and mix them together.

i will take everything i learned and put it all on my designs. i think mine will be different than everyone else's because we all have different things we researched and different ideas in mind which will express our creativity.

What inspired me for the animal and cultural project was the colors of what i was reseaching. Whats different about my design for the cultural project is that i didnt use the flag colors for my skirt.

When doing research on a topic you take peices from the country or animal you have learned about and use them in your designs. You can use colors, textures, and rendering of an animal or traditional garment to help inspired your design

So I am doing 18th century France since their gowns are very detailed with either gathers at the hem or anywhere else or elegant bows and even lace. So what is going to make mine unique is that I am going to incorparate these small details into my designs but modernize them for the everyday fashionable woman, even if she is going to the opera or just to brunch. So I am going to take these extravagant asspects of 18th century French fashion and simplify them a bit for 21st centuray fashion.

The way I incorporate my research is i think of how i can take what i see and put it into my designs. In my animal fashion project i took the characteristics of my animal and the overall colors and put it into my designs. What made my project original, in other peoples opinion, was that i gave my croquis shape and all their poses were different. I was surprised that everyone liked it. So i think all you have to know is how to take what you see and find out how you can make it come to life.

well what i did to my design was that i left the traditional colors of the county and and kept the basic shape of the skirt and made it a little bit shorter.it still has the same look but only with a "tashana style" to it.

Usually i am inspired by my surrondings. My designs are usually inspired form former fashion designer clothing and so ideas usually just pop up in my head. Most of the time i like to be unique and be different from other people.
